SENSORY WALKING

Sensory walking is a guided Nordic walking experience in which we experience nature with all our senses – touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. During the walk we observe and discover nature. The path may lead us through forests, grain fields or meadows, while we learn about medicinal herbs, taste the fruits of nature, listen to the song of birds or simply our own heartbeat and breathing.

It is about actively experiencing nature, surrendering to its power and thereby stimulating self-healing processes in the body. Sensory walking reduces anxiety and stress, improves mood and sleep quality. It teaches us to perceive and accept ourselves and our surroundings here and now, often practicing mindfulness. It is a compassionate way of awareness and acceptance of experiences in the present moment, helping us maintain inner peace.

DETOXIFICATION

Let us take care of the immune system and better well-being with a detoxification program. There is no one-size-fits-all recipe – it is important to consume seasonal and locally grown foods rich in antioxidants, probiotics, vitamins and minerals. Many people associate the word detox with strange mixtures and hunger. Therefore, expert advice is essential, as the purpose of such programs is not starvation, but the removal of toxins from the body, improved well-being and – if desired – healthy weight loss.

If we are already talking about “mixtures”, freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices can certainly be part of a detox program, as they cleanse and alkalize the body. Detoxification of the body can also be supported by aromatherapy, which among other things removes toxins through the lymphatic system, increases circulation and improves overall well-being. It is a combination of different massage techniques, including reflexology foot massage, lymphatic drainage and classical massage, as well as the use of natural essential oils.

Detoxification is not only enabled by nutrition and aromatherapy – movement is also important. This can be exercise in nature, thermal water, a gym or a special infrared room.

In summer, the sea beckons us – whether because of the refreshment it offers or because of its healing effects.

SALT BATH

Skin dried out by the summer sun benefits from salt baths, as they do not dry out the skin further compared to fresh water. Sea salt is rich in magnesium, calcium and potassium, which have a regenerating and detoxifying effect on the skin. It also helps with dermatitis, psoriasis and various skin eczema conditions, inhibits allergic reactions and contributes to easier and better sleep. Coarse sea salt is also ideal as a scrub for removing dead skin cells.

HEALING BODY PACKS

Sea mud or fango forms in shallow bays at the interface of fresh and seawater and is used in the form of body packs. Its beneficial effects are numerous – from gentle relaxation to faster recovery after various medical procedures or surgeries. Fango retains heat well and therefore has a relaxing effect on the body, improves circulation and has an analgesic effect.

Due to its chemical composition, it is also recommended for treating chronic musculoskeletal pain, spinal conditions, chronic inflammatory diseases of the urogenital tract, skin diseases and in the rehabilitation of injuries. Because of its cleansing effect, fango can also be effective against acne and is especially known as one of the few effective treatments in the early stages of psoriasis. Many women choose these black mud treatments because of their anti-cellulite effects and their generally beneficial impact on the skin, which after treatment becomes softer, firmer and, due to the soothing effect, also clearer.

In autumn, when cold winds blow and autumn leaves rustle under our feet, our body also feels the changes – so let us be especially gentle with it.

YOGA

The word “yoga” originates from the Sanskrit root “Yuj,” meaning “to unite,” and in ancient yogic texts it represents the union of individual and universal consciousness, as well as perfect harmony between mind and body, and between human and nature. Yoga practice includes asanas or physical exercises and postures, pranayama or breathing exercises, as well as relaxation and meditation. It is an excellent activity through which we strengthen and mobilize the body while calming and relaxing the mind. Yoga can be practiced in nature, individually at home, or as a guided practice in a studio. It is suitable for all ages and can help accelerate the healing of certain injuries or relieve some chronic conditions; it also has a positive effect on cardiovascular diseases.

REFLEXOTHERAPY

Reflexotherapy is an ancient form of massage believed to date back to the time of the Egyptians. It is based on the assumption that specific points on the palms and feet are connected to particular organs in the body and reflect their condition. Painful zones indicate a blockage in a certain organ, and by massaging or applying pressure to them, we balance their function and consequently the function of the entire body. The massage thus revitalizes the whole body, relaxes it, strengthens the immune system, and relieves headaches and other bodily tensions.

Winter is the time when nature slowly comes to rest – it is the time when we too should calm the body and especially the mind.

SAUNAS

On colder days, saunas are especially beneficial. They do not only warm us – during sauna sessions we relax and calm down. Our body detoxifies, airways are cleansed, blood circulation in the skin improves and fatigue decreases. Whether Finnish, Turkish, herbal or infrared sauna – regular use contributes to stress relief, faster regeneration of injured muscles and ligaments, increased skin elasticity, vitality and slowed aging.

During sauna use, it is important to listen to your body. Some people prefer so-called dry saunas or Finnish saunas, where the temperature is around 90°C and humidity is low. Others prefer Turkish saunas, where humidity is 100% and the temperature is around 50°C. If you feel dizzy or have difficulty breathing, you should leave the sauna immediately.

Although you should shower before entering the sauna, you should always enter completely dry, as only a dry body sweats properly. After sauna use, the body is cooled down with a cold shower and cooling in a pool.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot stone massages reduce tension in the body and lead to deep relaxation. In combination with healing essential oils, the stones improve circulation, relax tired muscles and help the body eliminate impurities. The stones are heated in hot water, and the heat penetrates deeply into the body and stimulates self-healing processes. They are placed on acupressure points, regulating and energizing the flow of energy throughout the body.

This is an ancient therapy known for thousands of years. The beneficial effects of hot stones were recognized by indigenous peoples of Central America and the Pacific, and similar practices are also known in China. They were used for both healing and spiritual purposes. The overall result of hot stone massage is physical and mental balance and general well-being.
