Otočec has seen quite a few changes over the past twelve months: last spring, we enhanced our offer with a lovely park situated where the bungalows used to be in front of the Šport Hotel and now the new wellness centre perfectly rounded off the wide range of services at Otočec that include the ones offered at the sports centre, the golf course and Otočec Castle. 

According to many, the Strunjan beach is one of the most beautiful nooks of Slovenian coast. In the recent years, it has been completely transformed and now it’s green, the lighting and wooden landings for resting and sunbathing are fixed, the access ways and a part of the main pier are paved and the popular beach bar, Cavedin, is refurbished. And that’s not all - this year, an inflatable floatable water park will be set up for the children.

Slovenia has received the 2015 IAGTO Award for the Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year at the International Golf Travel Market that took place on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como. Slovenia was represented by Otočec Castle Golf Course, Bled Golf Course, Arboretum Golf Course and MM turist tourist agency. The Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year Award is voted for by the 183 golf travel journalists of the International Golf Travel Writers Association.

The town of Dolenjske Toplice has been marked by thermal springs since the prehistoric times – archaeological excavation works nearby clearly evidence their healing properties. The first written reference to the town dates back to 1215 when Henry IV, the Margrave of Istria, granted part of his property to the Cistercian monastery in Stična. The first health resort building – the present-day Vital Hotel – was built in 1767 which marked the beginning of the health resort’s existence.
